CIP Eco-innovation call (onderdeel van het Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme van de EU)

Wat?
All forms of innovation reducing environmental impacts and/or optimising the use of resources.
Support innovative ideas which can be turned into marketable green products and services.

Voor wie?
Deze call is specifiek naar KMO’s gericht maar grote ondernemingen en onderzoeksinstellingen kunnen ook deelnemen.
Eén enkel bedrijf kan indienen maar er moet een Europese draagkracht zijn (bv. technologie komt gans Europa ten goede).

Water?
Er zijn 5 prioriteiten nl.

Sustainable building products
Food and drink sector
Water
Greening businesses

Concrete water topics zijn:

Water efficient processes, products and technologies, especially water-free processes (-> er moet minimaal 30% waterbesparing zijn).
Water and wastewater treatment: solutions that offer greater efficiency and reduced environmental impact, e.g. reduced use of chemicals and resources; recovery of resources from wastewater, such as nutrients.
Smart distribution systems aiming at the saving of water, chemicals, energy and materials: innovative systems for measuring and adjusting chemical dosing, flow and pumping rates; leakage detection and repair, novel pipe materials etc.

Projectduur?
Max. 3 jaar

Financiering?
50% steun
Investeringskosten kunnen ook worden gefinancierd.
Kosten voor onderaannemingen kunnen max. 35% bedragen.

Timing?
Deadline is 8 september 2011 om 17u – indienen via de online applicatie.
Evaluatie gebeurt eind 2011, start projecten in mei 2012.

Enkele voorbeelden rond innovatie in water?

BACOM - an innovative process to recycle bio-solid waste from water treatment plants into composite construction materials. The action was considered to be innovative and has clear and substantial environmental benefits as well as a high replication potential.
ECO3CIP - The aim of this project is to develop an ozone-based clean-in-place solution which lowers the volumes of water required, lowers the volumes and strength of wastewater discharged and reduces the need for the use of aggressive chemicals. The main application is within the dairy industry but there is scope for extension to include other disinfection processes within the food industry.
RECOWATER - an innovative solution to the recycling of cooling waters within the food industry as well as reducing the impact on the generation, collection and treatment of wastewater.
